Minutes to the KCHS Mens Soccer Booster Club Meeting held January 29, 2007.

At our meeting on January 29 in the KCHS Commons, the candy fundraiser product was handed out to those present.   Money due back by  February 16.

Booster Club President Ralph Jezierski encouraged all of us to get out for the game against Klein on Jan. 30.  He then proceeded to review what the booster club has accomplished so far this year.
  • Game Day banner purchased to hang out in front of KCHS.   REmind Coach Hamlett to get it out.
  • The web site has been updated, due to the efforts of Coach Hamlett.   Check it out.   It is full of information and looks great.   Margarita Assi will continue to provide pictures;  remember, she is the one who you should go to for pictures of your son - these will be needed for the banquet.
  • Digital camcorder purchased for $400.
  • DVD recorder purchased for $90.
  • The Christopher Westin Brown Fund provided money for an awesome shelter.
  • WE supported the alumni game
  • WE assist in Coach Elder's continuing education.

Still to spend:   Scholarship fund needs to be built up   and    we pay for the boys to eat at the banquet.

The poster fundraiser went well, and the tamale sale went very well.    No one had any feedback on the fundraisers so far.

Spirit items can be ordered from EmbroidMe (Kuykendahl @ Louetta in Kroger center)   if you still want a shirt.
Tonite (Jan 29) was first Pre-Game meal.   Hope to have the next one at the indoor facility.   Booster club will pay for the rental of the facility; the boys will pay a nominal fee for pizza.

The banquet is April 22, 2007.   Planning help will be needed for the menu, retaurant opyions, decoration, and program.

Next booster club meeting has been scheduled for February 26 in the Commons at 7:00

some general discussion:
We will need five people to help with the scholarship procedure this year - and it needs to be non-board members.
Treasurer Laura Vallentine reported that we had $12,000 in the account.
Another mixer has been suggested for late Feb. or early March.    Please look for upcoming information about this!
Ball boys and girls are needed for home games:   8 years old and up.  Contact Ralph

Coach Hamlett  reminded us that the Feb. 16 game is Pass-Back night and he would like to see a couple of parents collecting the donated used soccer equipment at the gate before the game.  Please contact him directly if you can help with that.

Minutes to the KCHS Mens Soccer Booster Club Meeting held December 4, 2006.

Coach Elder kicked off the meeting thanking everyone for taking the time to show support, and  proceeded to introduce and show great appreciation  for Coach Hamlett, whose competent assistance has benefited the soccer program in numerous ways.   He  went on to describe the district 16-5A schools, and made time to thank Larry & Mary Brown for their generous donation towards the boys field shelter.

Also,  February 16 is Pass-Back Night, so volunteers will be needed to gather up new and used equipment to move to those who need it.

If you can help Coach Elder or Coach Hamlett with any of their requests, please email them directly:

Ralph Jezierski  explained the purpose of the Men's Soccer Booster Club:  IT BENEFITS THE BOYS.   The KCHS  MSBC helps with coaching needs, the annual banquet, and the Scholarship Program that all senior soccer team members are eligible for.   Ralph explained that this takes money, and the main ways we can each help are:
 #1.  Join the Booster Club.

#2.  Help with fundraisers.   The next one is a Tamale Sale, to be held at Walmart on December 9  (2920 @ Kuykendahl).   Pre-orders were taken over Thanksgiving, and you may pick up your orders  at Walmart on the 9th.  We will continue to sell them (frozen) on the 9th.    If you can help, last names beginning with A - H should be there from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00, last names starting with I - Z from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.  Bring a cooler.  Although booster club fundraisers are to be parent-led, the boys would be wonderful as carnival hawkers.  They can wear their soccer shirts, and direct customers to the table we will have set up outside the store.  Walmart offers a Matching Funds type program (up to $1000), and we hope that they will approve our fundraiser .
Our next fundraiser will be a World's Finest Chocolate sale, held prior to Valentines Day.  We will have more info at January 29 meeting.

Reminders:   for the banquet (Sunday, April 22) , every player will be represented in a video.  To accomplish this, you will need to provide 4 or 5 pictures of your son in action.   Margarita Assi is at every game taking pictures of all the boys, so if you would rather watch the games than take pictures, let Margarita know and she will provide you a cd with pictures of your son on it for $20.00 .

Season Tickets to any Klein game facility were available, thanks to Stacy Flower.   Each card is $24.00.   With the card you may attend 12 games in KISD.   (Games are usually $3.00 each)

Laura Vallentine reported our current balance to be $10,319,  from which we will subtract $1100 for poster printing, we will also subtract for two scholarships.

Spirit Shirts and Game Day shirts were purchased / ordered.   Sandy Benton has done a lot of work to get us these shirts, so be sure to thank her when you see her.

Booster Club Meetings.   The next general meeting is scheduled for January 29 in the Commons.

Minutes to the KCHS Mens Soccer Booster Club Meeting held September 18, 2006.

Coach Elder kicked off the meeting thanking everyone for taking the time to show support, and  with heartfelt appreciation for Coach Hamlett, whose competent assistance has benefited the soccer program in numerous ways.   He  described this year's weekly routine, which focuses on the boys' strength, endurance, and injury prevention.

Although the final schedule is not yet available (it needs to be approved by the district athletic director), Coach was able to tell us that try outs would be November 27, (first Monday after Thanksgiving);  that there would probably be a practice on December 19 and possibly January 1 in the afternoon;    and  the Alumni game / Meet the Tigers night would be January 2, 2007.

Ralph Jezierski  explained the purpose of the Men's Soccer Booster Club:  IT BENEFITS THE BOYS.   The KCHS  MSBC has a Scholarship Program that all senior soccer team members are eligible for,  plus we plan and coordinate the end of year banquet,  provide Tiger Team Spirit clothing items,   even help maintain our very fine soccer field, among other things.    With the goal in mind of helping our boys, there are many ways even the most time-strapped of us can help.  Ralph then went over  our planned fundraisers:
#1.  Poster fundraiser.  (See attachment if you were unable to attend the meeting)   We hope to sell 50 ads, that is roughly one per family.   The ads may be sold through the end of October.   Posters will be given to all those businesses and individuals that purchase an ad, plus they will be handed out to the boys on January 2, 2007 at the Alumni Game / Meet the Tigers night.   Once you sell a space, email Ralph with the info and then send him the paperwork; his address is on the bottom of the second page.

#2.  Tamale Sales at Walmart on December 9  (2920 @ Kuykendahl).   Will ask for pre-orders about two weeks prior to this event, and they can be picked up on the 9th., plus we hope to sell many more that day.   Walmart offers a Matching Funds type program (up to $1000), and we will ask the boys and parents to assist with the sales.  Time approximately 9:00 - 1:00.

#3.  Candy Sales of World's Finest Chocolate in February.  If we sell one box per player, we make a profit!!  More info to follow at a later meeting.
Spirit Items.   Some of our spirit shirts were available for purchase; and if you want something more like a polo with the logo embroidered on it, we will have an order form for that made available.   For more infomation, talk to Sandy Benton or let a booster club officer know of your interest.

Website:    www.kctigersoccer.com     Coach Hamlett should be able to keep up with the schedules, scores, etc. and we believe Margarita Assi will be able to help with the photos.   (Keep Margarita in mind because at the end of the year she will have the best photos of your son; a CD full of them is well worth the cost)

Pre-Game Team MealsThis is an activity that has been well received, and will be repeated.   Details to come.   Also, will try to have a rep from Studentfuel to a meeting.  Studentfuel brings your child a dinner that you have ordered and paid for online; very helpful on game days!!

Kellee Heffner briefly covered the Banquet (April 22, 2007) and the Scholarship Committee.  Both will be covered in more detail in the future.

Laura Vallentine relayed that the booster club has a current balance of $9061.52, outstanding checks in the amount of $2355.45,  for a final balance of $6706.07 , and made it clear that the budget  information is available for all KCHS MSBC members to review.

Booster Club Meetings.   There may be a November meeting, date not yet set, as well as our next scheduled meeting on December 4.

Other.
* The question was raised "Can we get a big banner for the Soccer team, like Volleyball puts up?"
* Another question about how we can purchase a game card ahead of the games (like Klein does), rather than a ticket at every game.   Stacy Flowers said she can look into this for us.  (Thank you, Stacy!)
* Greg and Beverly Bisso have arranged with Mi Rancho for patio space on Monday, September 25, for a MIXER.  Tabs will be separate.   Come out and meet !   A big thanks to Beverly and Greg for a great idea!
* We may get more interest in ball boys & girls through the Kickers youth activity that Coach Hamlett is involved in.  (Did you knowThe Klein Collins Tiger Men’s Soccer program is offering Tiger fans 14 and under the opportunity to be part of theKlein Collins Kicker Club ”.    Klein Collins Kicker Club Members receive  a   t-shirt,  Game Pass to Varsity home games,  Special Skills Clinic,   and  Varsity halftime activities with prizes.   Can make positive use of the appearance of our boys on December 9 to interest younger boys in soccer program, as they will look up to the bigger boys.
* If you have a team or club of boys &/or girls that can act as ball boys, let Ralph know so we can schedule.
* Coach Elder mentioned if you are going to a Dynamos game, it will actually benefit the activity fund at KCHS if you buy your tickets from Coach Elder.   Email Coach Elder if you ar interested or have questionsrelder@kleinisd.net
