Ralph Jezierski
Board elections – We are opening up a nomination period for the 4 positions on the Board: President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Ralph will send out an e-mail listing the duties for each position so Booster Club members can decide which position they may be interested in. Please let Ralph know as soon as possible concerning any interest in these positions as elections will be held at the Banquet on April 22nd.The Board would like a minimum of 2 people for each position on the ballot. If there are no volunteers for the board positions, Ralph will be calling to ask specific individuals.
There was a suggestion made by Greg Bisso that there be a Social Committee next year to plan a Parents’ Night for parents of all the soccer players to get to know one another, thus making the newer members feel more like a part of the group and to encourage participation. Another suggestion was made that next year the Booster Club meet once a month instead of every other month, as it was this year.
Kellee Heffner
End of Year Banquet – There will be a meeting on Thursday, March 30th at the Starbucks at Louetta and Kuykendahl to discuss plans for the banquet. Items up for discussion are invitations, catering and decorations. An accurate count of attendees will be needed in order to plan for the food. All soccer players will be free and last year the guest meal cost was $15.00 per person.
The deadline for pictures for the banquet video is Wednesday, April 5th. Anyone who may need pictures for their child should contact Margarita Assi, who is selling CD’s with the players’ pictures for $20.
Scholarship committee – The scholarship committee has been selected. The members of the committee are:
Mike Barr, Chairman
Laura Vallentine
Greg Bisso
Pam Knowlton
Marlene Posterick
All seniors who submit the paperwork by April 3, 2006 will get at least $250.The maximum scholarship amount is $1000. The funds available for scholarships will be 45% of the Club’s account as of May 1, 2006.
Ralph Jezierski
Golf Tournament – Due to lack of participation by the Booster Club members, the golf tournament has been cancelled. We will lose $500 by canceling, but there is a risk of losing much more if we are unable to come up with 50 golfers, and the hole sponsors we require. At this time we had 3 hole sponsors and 6 golfers. This was going to be our big fundraiser, so we will need to replace it with something else in order to continue giving scholarships next year.
Freddy Borrego made a suggestion that we sell tamales to replace the golf tournament as a fundraiser. The tamales would sell for $6.00/dozen and are available in beef, chicken or pork. We would be able to pre-sell with order forms as well as sell outside of a store.Margarita Assi will check with Wal-Mart (who will match up to $1000) or Kroger for dates that may be available. She will check to see if April 29, 2006 is an available date.Freddy said he could get the tamales with 2-3 day notice.
Coach Hamlett
There will be a Signing Ceremony honoring the graduating seniors who have signed with colleges to play soccer on Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. All who wish to celebrate with our departing seniors are invited to attend.
